CADV receives $1,500 donation from Norco and Kissler Family Foundation

ELKO — The staff and clients of Committee Against Domestic Violence want to thank the Kissler Family Foundation for its generous gift of $1,500 to our organization in June.

Every year the employees of Norco vote to give funds to different organizations. Those nonprofits are submitted to the Kissler Family Foundation and several are selected. CADV, which operates Harbor House, was honored to be selected for the second year in a row.

Harbor House is the only domestic violence shelter for all of Elko, Eureka and White Pine counties. The building went into operation in 1998 and after a little more than two decades it is going through major maintenance to allow us to continue serving 150 to 200 clients every year.

The Kissler Family Foundation’s kind contribution will enable CADV to assist clients in becoming self-sufficient and help them find better ways to plan for their safety.

Private donations help us keep our doors open to aid domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking victims to become survivors.

Anyone who wants to contact CADV to help with donations or to volunteer should call our office 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 738-6524.

Those who need help from CADV can reach an advocate 24 hours a day through our crisis line 738-9454 or toll free at 888-738-9454.
